About The Author
Peter J. Oszmann was born in 1934 in Hungary
into an assimilated Jewish family and was unaware of his Jewish roots until
participation in mocking a fellow Jewish student in 1941 at the state elementary
school in Budapest, brought him face to face with the unpalatable truth.
He was educated in Budapest, through primary and secondary school and
at the Dental Faculty of the University of Budapest Medical School.
His studies were interrupted in October 1956 by the popular Uprising
against the tyrannical Soviet system and shortly after the invasion of the
Red Army in November he left Hungary as a refugee, together with his young
wife, a fellow Dental Student. They have a son and a daughter.
He settled in London, England where he completed his studies and in 1961
established his own Dental Practice. Subsequently he gained a BSc Hon. in
Psychology and a postgraduate degree in general Dentistry. He is still practising
part time.
His hobbies include art, photography, classical music, opera, theatre,
cinema, literature, and skiing. His other interests include yoga, meditation,
altered states of consciousness and eastern philosophies.... and most importantly,
his four grandsons.
He is currently working on the sequel to this book: Book Two, Under Stalin’s
Shadow.
